Beirut>>Tampa

As many of you know, I was a student at LAU. I recently graduated and looked for work in Beirut. However, my pursuit was quite unsuccessful and I ended up moving to Florida and becoming a kindergarten teacher (yeah...total opposite of what I wanted to do!). Things ended rockily with my now ex boyfriend who decided that the distance was too much of a problem (remember ladies, distance should NEVER matter to the heart). And now, here I am, completely out of my element, working at a job that I know absolutely nothing about, dreaming of lights and Hollywood.
When I say completely out of my element, it sounds kind of weird, considering I was born and raised in Boston. However, Lebanon is such a warm and welcoming place that sort of just sucks you in, so anything else feels like a strange land. I genuinely miss the traffic, the pollution, the beggars, and every little bad thing that Lebanese complain about daily. I also miss complaining about these things.
Living in a quiet suburb is quite different that living in bustling Hamra where there is never a quiet moment. Living at home is completely different than living on my own in a big city. Honestly, Beirut is the city of my dreams. Everything is readily accesible at any time. Tampa is sort of like the city of the dead. No life here, just walking zombies going to work every day and sleeping by 7.
Tampa does have something going for it. It's genuinely gorgeous when it comes to nature. The complex I live in has two little ponds (filled with alligators) and trees. Plenty of trees. (Which is not good for my allergies, which suddenly have started up again!).
Thank god there's only 41 more days until I get to go on vacation and be back in Beirut <3

I'M BACK

I realize I've been neglecting my blog and any readers I might have. I apologize! Life has just been one giant mess lately. I moved from Lebanon to the states and it's just been a bundle of BLAH.
I miss Beirut terribly, of course.
I promise to update a bit more...but then again, life is just moving so quickly!
